A Hole in the Wall Empty A Hole in the Wall

Post by Solvictus Wed Jul 06, 2016 12:23 am

Surrounding the bazaar was plenty of buildings and other various structures that people had homes and business in. Like many bazaars across the galaxy, there was always another side to it. While everyday business occurred in the known bazaar, the shady business occurred around it inside sheltered locations that kept these dealings from the public and government. While most business was generally weapons or assassinations, drugs and human trafficking, there were people trying to find treasures and things that normal humans were not intended to play with. One group, the 'Fireknaughts', were after something that many nations long ago fought to bury and hide for all eternity. Over the next few days, people would gather, whether friend or foe, to figure out what this group was up to.

A Hole in the Wall Empty Re: A Hole in the Wall

Post by Joachim Sat Jul 09, 2016 12:36 am

Joachim was wandering the bazaar, enjoying the sights and sounds of a desert empire. It reminded him of a home his ancestors had spoken of in cycles past. The man wore loose clothing and a red and black head wrap around his head. A full beard which came down to his chest, and tattoos beneath his eye's whhich resembled harsh lines that followed the bone along his nose and curving beneath the eye, along with two perfectly spaced dots. At his hip was an axe of gold alloy, and on his back a shield of the same material. At five foot eleven and well tanned Joachim actually blended in quite well with the crowd. Upon his hip was a small coin purse and upon his back was a pack of metal which clanked with every step that he took.

Eventually he might find this hole in the wall so to speak, looking around the bazaar he saw how some people might just avoid it. A tug at his fated soul told him that something about this might peak his interest. If there was a door he would knock before letting himself in, and if there was nothing there but a drape he would push it aside and peer in. Assuming he didn't get distasteful looks he would call out to whatever patrons were already in the building. "Hello?"

A Hole in the Wall Empty Re: A Hole in the Wall

When Joachim stepped through and spoke, he'd find himself being pushed forward. This hole in the wall had to keep its secrecy, and the Fireknaughts were good at protecting their secrets, meaning it had guards.

Behind Joachim at the sides of the entrance were two half-elves(as the entire Phoenixian/Fireknaught population is half-elf.) Two more came in through another entrance and waived for Joachim to come along. If he came along, he would be fine, if he tried not to, he would be forced to. Joachim would find the answers to his questions, hopefully cooperatively.

In order to protect their secret, they would make sure whoever stepped through the door stayed to bear witness to the unveiling so they were not stopped before their time. It was nothing personal to that person, it was just protocol. Phoenixians are very militaristic and take their orders seriously, so long as Joachim went with it and used his better judgement not to fight, he would find something rewarding.

Every guard wore a red turban with an onyx stone with the symbols for Kiraxo(Phoenix) embedded into their smooth surfaces. They wore a light armor of Mithril plating that hung by chains over their shoulders. Their legs were covered by red Harem pants with black outlining. Their feet were covered by leather sandals that had armor plating to protect the top of the foot. To be a hole in the wall, these tall warriors had a prestigious look, and their control over the Scimitars that hung on them, one on the back and the other on their left hip.

"Come now. We have something for you to see." A Fireknaught in a white uniform spoke, the same one that waived him on, "We have to make sure nobody is following you. When it is all over, you will be released if you choose to leave us with no memory of this, or you can stay and support our purpose for gathering."

A Hole in the Wall Empty Re: A Hole in the Wall

Joachim was immediately pushed in, for a moment he looked like he might strike as his weapon hand went for his axe, but as they talked and he got a look at these people he would smile. If they were like most half-elves they most likely had the knife-ear as he'd heard it called. "Interesting, I wasn't expecting to find Khai this far from Vyrose." He smiled under his beard, something about these people actually set him at ease. Though the way they adorned clothing typical of his people was certainly different than he was used to. As he was ushered through he saw just how many of them were here. He would need a full battle group if he wished to fight his way out, and even then some luck would be on his side to come through alive. He was a good fighter, but he wasn't some kind of battle god like The Baron or Fade had been.

When the Fireknaught in the white waved him on, and began to explain things Joachim would simply nod. Those seemed like acceptable terms to him. "If I find your offer to be enticing enough, we'll see. Though I would prefer my memory not be wiped either way." His tone at the end was a little more defensive as if the thought of having memories ripped from him actually went against some kind of deep seated moral principle. "My kind know how to keep secrets. So long as you're not a worshiper of slithery things we'll be fine." He tried to just and nodded in whatever direction he was being brought, as if to say lead on. Joachim if anything was rather curious as to what was happening here.

"We believe that all people are created to be free, justice be served, and our people to be prosperous. You do not have to worry about slithery things with us. We are honest and want the best for everyone." The man spoke before deciding to ask, "Tell me, do you worship a god?"

At the end of tunnel with shifting walls, the small group reached a gold and red portal, "We will discuss terms when the time becomes relevant. For now, please step into the portal. We will be right behind you.

Exit to [Hole in the Wall - Vauc'Berheemius extension.] (Will put up shortly.)

Joachim chuckled when the man brought up him worshiping a god. He only shook his head at that mention. "Hardly, to worship something is to lose some of your own personal freedom. I doubt you all wish for something like that." He saw the portal and backed up a moment, possibly losing his nerve, especially considering that he was going in first. "All people being free huh? It depends on the level of freedom really. Total anarchy and freedom has its downfall, but blind subservience to an ideal is just as bad. Let's hear your proposition."

Closing his eye's Joachim would walk through the portal and look around at just whatever was on the other side. Well this was certainly better than when his ex-wife had commanded so many things from him. Nothing could be worse than those days, or so he thought.

[Sorry that took so long, wasn't sure if you were making the topic right away or not.]

The man that went in had yet to come out. Maybe there were spectators of this who might be curious or just another stranger who is curious, might see this. The red cloth hanging over the needle-eye door frame continued to ruffle as the breeze from inside blew out.

A Hole in the Wall Empty Re: A Hole in the Wall

Post by Vann Tue Jul 26, 2016 9:44 pm

Having booked passage to Maur Secundus, Vann figured he would try his luck here. A hood drawn up over his features, as a stitched up sweater adorned his chest. Sleeves and hood white, with the torso black. The seams that separated the colors made of prominent visible stitching.

He was quite used to "the gutter" and this was not the worst place he had ever been, but it was not a nice neighborhood it seemed either. He could take care of himself however, at least against most conventional threats. His skin prickled slightly, as his aura's natural emission interacted with residual forces that were in turn also affected by the portal which stood as a lacuna between space and time.

"Whats all this then..." he muttered.

Vann felt a force behind him, and almost moved to do something in response, but saw that there was something else going on here. He acquiesced for now. He was armed, and he would not relinquish his own blade if it became an issue. It was simple and mundane, and in the western style with a cruciform hilt and pommel and a straight double edge. At least that was what the sheathe implied.

He took the mans words with an affirmative grunt and little more. He simply watched, and waited. He surveyed the men, who all seemed from a desert climate, but something seemed off. Were they native to The Black Sun Empire? He had not spent much time here, but there were certain cultural nuances that seemed to be missing. Any religious iconography seemed to be completely absent from the area, and the patterns and make of certain items seemed slightly different. What was this? He favored his awareness for the moment, simply seeking to discern what was going on. Though if they tried to erase his memory, things would not go so easily for them. He might just go along with whatever they were doing. It all depended on what was going on.

A Hole in the Wall Empty Re: A Hole in the Wall

So long as Vann co-operated, he would find himself facing a vortex in a wall that was heavily guarded. The warriors escorting Vann insisted that the man go in first and they would follow behind him. If Vann looked back down the passage they traveled to reach the vortex, he would see warriors paced out every so many feet that crept from the shadows to ensure nobody turned around.

"You will see many wonderful things beyond this point and you will become knowledgeable of history long forgotten. Please, step through and we will be right behind you."

(Will pick up in Vauc'Berheemius once entered.)

Vann was understandably dubious, but his curiosity was getting the better of him. He did grip the pommel of his blade however as he looked at the warriors. He was not 100% sold. "How about one of you go first?" he asked, the first word he had given apparently spoken. He was no coward, but stepping into a strange metaphysical vortex at the behest of armed strangers just seemed really ill-conceived to him.

The Fireknaught dropped his head slightly and raised his right arm to point it at the portal, "We're not her to harm you.", finishing the words with a soft sigh.

The room would fold in on itself and everyone would go through the portal together. When the group was spat back out, they would find themselves in Vauc'Berheemius
