Sune'ere had been enjoying the life of a ranch hand. Taking care of the overly large horses and tending to other needs around redpointe. It gave him time to work on his own pet projects while getting a minimum amount of sleep. Learning to properly make a gun was something he'd taken to rather quickly, he'd now managed to produce some actual quality guns that needed testing. He had loaded up one of his packs with all the equipment he planned on testing, as well as some of his old gear he wanted to make comparisons against. The other pack he had with him was full of other less explosive supplies. He had jugs of alcohol, along with the fixings for what may of been a small and simple picnic.

Sune'ere himself was currently riding upon one of those Equs Helios he'd been taking care of for the past few weeks. To be specific he was riding while someone else was guiding the horse and doing all the hard work. He'd dressed for the cold as per usual, his white thermal cloak pulled tight around him while the hood was left down so he could see everything that was going on. This place they were headed seemed a good deal of distance away from Redpointe. Despite anyone's insistence as to the safety of where it was they were heading, Sune would of made sure he came fairly well armed. They would be outside of Redpointe's protective wards, and he wasn't about to have some weird accident happen and have himself be half prepared. Gauntlets were tight on his fists, and axes were at his side. He'd even at some point found some time to make himself a new pair of metal gloves, much like the ones he used to wear. Though he had yet to rune them, they would still serve a purpose if something decided to fight him.

Maybe this level of over preparedness would of put Rose off. They were just going exploring not really that far from Redpointe, and they were both handy with guns. Sune just enjoyed the ride despite any of her complaints about his desire to be a walking armory. While riding on the back end of whatever Helios Rose chose to take (Probably Hyrrokkin knowing his luck) he would keep his hands in place upon her waist to keep himself balanced. Plus he liked keeping his hands there. He looked about expectantly, keeping watch and casually glancing towards the bracer Sophonax let him borrow with that curious sanctum metal upon it.

"So this place isn't haunted or anything? Just abandoned? Seems kind of a waste for a place to be abandoned and not haunted don't you think?" It was a weird way of thinking, but then again sometimes the things Sune said just to hear himself talk were weird. "I mean haunted mining town, that has a better ring to it. Would make for a cool story to tell Odine as well when she can appreciate that kind of stuff." He laughed a bit and continued to keep a lookout, whenever the actual mining outpost would come into view he would promptly shut himself up. He'd never seen a town that was just plain abandoned before after all.

Honestly, Rose’s reaction to all of the armaments and apparently gearing up for war had been to first grin and then to laugh. She knew better than to try and reassure him— Whinnie-Sloane, Gwenna and the others including herself had all been up to Søren’s Peak more times than they can count with nothing on them but their utility knives. While she understood part of it was testing the new beauties he’d thrown together in her shop after two months of tutelage per Rose’s own hand— Sune’ere had also outfitted himself with gauntlets, knives and his trusty axes. It looked like they were riding into battle and Rose suspected that if they hadn’t ridden a Helion the pair would have been too encumbered to go on horseback.

Rose herself? She’d also packed a basket for a good time and instead of food she’d brought honey whiskey, mead and an enormous mason jar of ‘Shine that was packed to the lid with Ranier cherries which had been absorbing the strong spirits for nearly a week. For weapons, she had her own hefty shooter, a machete holstered against her spine and ammunition on her belt.

Sune’ere was indeed lucky they were atop Hyrrokkin...and she was so well behaved and responsive to commands that she may have left her newfound extra caretaker feeling a bit bitter. The beast was putty in Rose’s hands and took to every command both vocal and physical with so much as a whine.

“Y’know, bein’ prepared is one thing—” she’d say; stifling a breathy laugh. They were now three miles from the compound and taking a trek up one of the not-quite-mountains locking in the valley that housed their home and production site. “- But there ain’t nobody up there, y’ really don’t have to worry. Just gonna be you an’ me. Unless, well, the others get a wild hair up their ass and roll up trying to have a party or somethin’”

Sune’ere’s expert driver reached up to pull her insulated hood over her shoulders as it was already becoming twice as cold as they engaged a much higher elevation. Sune’ere might notice the path was leading clear in the other direction from the scenic mountain they were headed to. He’d likely been told about the anomalies and ‘windows’ all around the land that could be used to travel all around the north and perhaps other places as well. The Sentinels routinely used them to safely and quickly go off-ground if needed. They were almost quite literally windows and may resemble the Magi gates he’d likely seen his siblings and father use to travel. Nothing announced their presence— the tree trunks at certain angles would suddenly stop lining up as if sliced through and sliding out of alignment. The separation never happened and that was how the back of the window appeared. It did not exist from the side as if it didnt even possess a monomolecular presence. And in front, it was as if an image of somewhere else had been suspended in the air without a frame.

The window in question loomed ten meters in front of them and Rose tugged Hyrrokkin’s reigns with a subdued “Whoaa-aaaah” which brought the animal to a stop. A rope-and-tube strut ladder was released from the side of the saddle and Sune was encouraged to dismount before Rose. behind them, Redpointe Ranch could be seen even from a few miles uphill. Before them? The image showcased slightly smaller coniferous shrubbery. They were looking at a path far up the peak where the distant cloud cover they saw over the mountains was now seen as a dense fog. Intensely cold air blew out of the window and trees swayed gently on the other side— not simply a magic trick, after all.

“Alright, tetherin’ Hyrrokkin here for her safety. Once we step through s’not even a quarter mile to the outpost. Get your gear on...it’s a whole new kinda cold.” After saying so she realized he’d probably been in such an environment plenty of times before. That damnable age of his...all that experience. Rose chuckled to herself and put on her insulated coverall and snow goggles. Everything they’d packed would be arranged onto backpacking shelves and strapped to their backs.

Once Hyrrokkin was tethered and given a strip of raw meat Rose would step through the preternatural threshold. Instantly, it was easily three times as cold on the other side and forced an unavoidable groan out of her. The sky was heavy, overcast and it would likely bear light snow soon. She’d doused for the weather and knew they wouldnt be trapped by a snow storm, at least.

As promised a little way up from their touch down? Deep red painted buildings were nestled onto the high up flat upon the mountain. Several feet of snow covered every roof top...it was all perfectly preserved. And far behind it after a stretch of road? The looming, sealed off maw leading into the mines could be observed. Thankfully, there were no plans to consult said mines.

No one was that brave or naive.

Sune'ere was actually uncomfortable leaving for the wilds without this much gear on him, if not more. He had been attacked more times in the wild and the city than he could really count. He doubted a normal horse would of had a problem with the extra weight. After all he stood up just fine with it. Then again while he wasn't a trained soldier like his sister, he was certainly more used to living out of his own pack than a prince really should be. He chuckled when Rose mentioned being prepared and thinking him maybe a bit over zealous in his need to arm himself.

"Hun, I got attacked by a pack of werewolves while I was trying to cash a check a year ago. Middle of the city, no moon out. I prefer to be prepared, especially when I'm heading into new territory." As Rose pulled her hood over her head he would follow suit, assuming that it was about to get quite cold. He kept his hands on her hips to steady himself once this was done, or just because he wanted to. He certainly doubted she would complain. Once Hyrrokkin was tethered he would climb down, and though he knew the experienced sentinel didn't need it, he would offer a hand to help her. It was just one of those things he unconsciously did, like holding the door or pulling out a chair when it wasn't weird and awkward. He nodded to her when she mentioned getting his winter gear on. He would clap his hands together and flex the gauntlets he wore. "All ready. You know me, I'm like a little space heater." He tried to smile to her at his own mention of that. Internally he was readying very basic magic rotes to convert nearby cold air into warmer air. Not enough to mess with the environment, just enough to keep himself relatively comfortable. As far as goggles? He doubted he would need them. Unless they were walking right into a blizzard. he would be fine with his sorcery keeping him warm.

He followed behind her, and her groan was followed by his own. The sudden change in temperature just couldn't be accounted for, it would take a moment for his rote to go into full gear and start keeping him warm. He was already tempted to take a pull from the whiskey to warm himself up. Walking with Rose he kiept his packs straight and warmed up over the course of a few moments. Unless the snow was deep he would move at a casual pace, and while the light snow fall certainly didn't bother him, it was more calming than it probably should of been. If he laid down his white cloak would probably have him concealed in the ground. "Well it takes a little getting used to, but I appreciate your ma not setting up the ranch up here." he laughed and walked close to Rose, possibly sharing his warmth. Surely by this point she knew he had some kind of meta talent, after all he had been speaking of shooting spells from guns and the like. He would do his best to share the warmth of the rote he'd cast. As a trade he got to stay closer to her. Not that he thought she would mind.

Once they were in viewing distance of the town he would look it over. Perfectly abandoned like something in everyone's minds had just said, get the fuck outta here. It took him a moment or two to really get over that feeling. If something had scared away a whole crew of people being paid to come out here, why were they here. He stared moving an arm around her waist and pulling her close to him. The view was, stunning to him, something he had never before seen in his life. Once he caught his breath and let the new feelings wash out of him he would let go and let her lead them down to the actual town. They had come here to test equipment and eat and drink together. "I only managed to Rune two of the guns. a forty five, and a fifty. Made a few bullets too if you wanted to test them out. The forty five has my new capacitor model in it, so you'll need to use both hands for that" He grinned a bit grabbing her hand and looking down to her. Oh innuendo, how you'll never tire from Sune'ere's mind.

"If you don't mind I'll fire both first. Just to make sure I didn't mess up the runes on the gun. I would hate for you to blow a finger off. I really like your hands.]" He didn't even hide his own innuendo or attraction as he grabbed at her hips and pulls her near him just to bump against her with his own hips. "I do have an unruned snub nose I made, as well as a rifle prototype if you want to test those out?" He smiled, wait. Where or how the hell was he carrying a rifle? If she asked he would pull a rifle from a pouch at his hip, that was three times to small to fit a weapon of that size. Stupid sorcery.

Whiskey, Guns, and abandoned towns. Empty Re: Whiskey, Guns, and abandoned towns.

Rose snickered at his admittance. “Could you imagine? That would be one fuckaroo of a location. At least down in the early Taiga there’s plenty of farmable land. Up here? A few evergreens. That’s pretty much it.” And when Sune’ere came closer to her she did feel a bit of the warmth and even whistled at how nice it was. “Ought to just take y’ out on my rounds to stay warm at this rate”

Soon enough they’d come off of the old snow covered road to pass a wood and beaten-iron gate. The old sign outside of it in brass could just barely be discerned: Simhaghast Sören Mine. Rose wasn’t sure who he or the company might have been, but, whoever he or they were? They were a long time gone. Everything was preserved as it had been left save for the saloon that the girl’s liked to camp in for a few nights and light a fire in the hearth. Behind the town was an impossible ledge that faded away so far down there was fog blocking the view of the ground. The altitude as too high— and to think they had only stepped through the gate to something like halfway up the mountain crest. The two tallest points loomed in the background….impossibly high and certainly intimidating. This was where the girls did their shooting and it was the perfect vantage point as in between the mining peak and the other huge range was a dip of a valley which held a frozen glacial fjord. To think all of this untouched purity had existed between the distant mountains behind Redpointe Lake and the ranch house. Everything’s bigger up close!

“Let’s go put out gear down in The Wash. That’s what they called the waterin’ hole before they all broke out.” Rose nearly slipped on a bit of ice out of excitement; grinning at Sune’ere as she was engaging him in likely the coolest game of show and tell. “After that, there’s a whole lot of other stuff too in these buildings. We haven't even been in all the houses.” Rose let Sune’ere take her hand and did him one better- linking their arms at the bend. What better way to share that warmth?

“Both hands, huh? Y’ don’t say…
” With a chuckle, she lead him into a building with old and rusted red metal walls and she— again, with her huge ring of keys which she’d shown to the old man some time back— opened what appeared to be a much newer stainless steel door. At some point the old door must have rusted to shit and the girls had hauled up a new one to replace it. Once inside it was pitch black and smelled of an old cedarwood fire. Super old liquor lined frosty wooden shelves on one end and the entire back wall was a stone hearth. Rose dropped her hiking pack off on one of the sturdy looking tables, also dusty with ice crystals and set about touching her index finger and thumb to what appeared to be enormous red candles sitting in sconce dishes on the wall. Soon, The Wash was bathed in warm light.

“What the hell’s up wit’ that bag?!”
she asked; laughing and shaking her head as Sune’ere pulled something impossible out of it. The last candle was lit and she soon squatted in front of the enormous stone hearth and began to load the logs into it. More evidence the girls enjoyed the hangout— they had a store of firewood taking up most of the free wall. It wouldnt be long before they had a gloriously warm fire and much more light.

“We’ll get to testin’ everything. Lets thaw out a bit an’ then we’re gonna go shoot the moon. Oh, and speaking of that.” Rose circled around to the table she’d put her pack on and put her back to him— making it obvious she didn’t want him peeking with a glance over her shoulder and a touch of adjustment. All sort of accoutrements came out of her bag: emergency climbing gear if needed, a flashlight, three flasks, rations, flares and more until she reached the object that would hopefully make his day. Sune’ere might at best catch a glimpse of something silver and perhaps gold— until she laughed and shoved it under her puffy jacket.

“Close your eyes!” she’d say; seemingly unable to stifle her nervous snickering.

Sune'ere chuckled when she decided to comment on him keeping her warm. He reached a hand down to swat at her covered back and spoke with a bit of a laugh still in his voice. "You know they wouldn't pair us up like that even if we asked. They all think we'd go off on our own mid-duty." He grinned down to her, not that anyone would probably be surprised if they did that. He just figured they both probably had more self control than anyone back at the ranch actually gave them credit for.

Once they were able to see the town, well he took it all in. Just where they were in respect to the mountains, the terrifying drop off, and the abandoned town and everything. This was a new feeling, just seeing a place like this near perfectly preserved, and it was used for what? For some girls to shoot and have parties at. Nice use of a town, he'd have to make sure not to tell anyone else about this. Well maybe Ed if he ever came back, this would be a great place to share with his friend. Thinking too much he had Rose loop her arm through the bend in his and share the heat. He smiled in a content and lazy way of a person who had everything, and cared for nothing more. Right now he was happy to just walk with her by his side. Her own retort to his words made him grin. "Well it'd a shame if you only knew how to fire one of my guns properly." At this point Sune was traipsing on dangerous about to get punched in the arm territory.

Slinging the rifles strap over his unoccupied side he would just shrug to her. "Gift from my uncle. He gave me the explanation, and it's kind of long and boring. Basically, so long as it can fit inside the opening I can put anything in there." Once they were inside of The Wash He would start setting all of his equipment and the food he'd brought with him. He watched Rose getting the lighting going by pressing her fingers and together he raised a brow at this and was quick to question. "So is that the candles lighting on their own, or is that you?" He always felt like he was talking about his own past, his own powers and skills, and never letting her tell him anything sometimes. Seeing this actually peaked his curiosity about what kind of other talents she had hidden inside of her.

He organized his own gear, keeping bullets and guns seperate from each other, and checking the integrity of capacitors that were attached to the guns. As she moved to her own table and started to pull things out, he would be looking not at what she was grabbing, but more at her. Though the look of something silver and gold did catch his attention, before it was put away. He quirked a brow. "What's th-" He was cut off and just smiled and closed his eyes as instructed. "Alright. Do I at least get to know if this is one of those present type surprises or the sexy type of present?" Well for all he knew when he opened his eye's she'd be wearing lingerie or something. Well a man could dream. He kept his hands by his side, waiting for instruction from her. Honestly the fact that he was this calm, really spoke volumes about his trust for her. Sune was a careful kind of guy, owing a lot of his age to trusting his instincts and not following pretty women into abandoned towns.

Whiskey, Guns, and abandoned towns. Empty Re: Whiskey, Guns, and abandoned towns.

Post by Røse Mon Apr 18, 2016 9:06 pm

Rose had to laugh at his curiosity. She’d told him about Sparrow and how her mother was a sorceress. therefore he must have known that she came with natural metaphysical talents “Didn't I tell you about my ma? Well shit— the other ma?” Rose was now circling around behind him with a goofy, puckish look on her face and a bit of bounce in her step. “She was a natural born witch. Became a sorceress. I got that from my other side. Dunno how much but yeah buddy— you’re dating a Wicked Witch.” The combination of Sparrow’s bloodline and a Siila Djinn was what had culminated in her, a Nepenthe. There were very few others like her, but, they existed out there in the world.

Now behind Sune’ere, she was having trouble stifling mischievous giggles and she put her now-war, hand over his eyes for insurance. “Gimme y’ hand.” she’d say; then putting something into his grip that he would know immediately was some sort of new, weighty firearm. It was cold, new and unfamiliar. “ Ok, ok….raise it…” Rose then make sure he had a nice grip on the sawn off style hand cannon; the fit was perfect for his much larger hand meaning that she had worked with his measurements fully in mind. It was brushed metal, brass and gold and had a silver rose detail down the side of the right barrel. It was both high tech in design and yet had an old fashioned flair that screamed a mountain aesthetic.

“Ok...open em!” Rose removed her hand from his eyes and wrapped both arms around his trunk. He’d likely feel the tension in her jaw as she smiled over his shoulders; risen up on her tip toes to do it considering he had a good amount of height on her. “See how sneaky I am?! I’m a snake in the grass, Sune’ere! I made ‘er right under your nose. Unbelievable, huh? She needs fitting for capacitors if y’ wanna use her with special ammo but I’m betting I can make some of those. For the regular slugs, oh yeah...time to play!”

Now, she planted a kiss on the meaty part of his shoulder and skittered away from him toward the bar to let him either admire or reject his gift.

“Ever had 70 year old whiskey? We only ever take one shot o’ this when we’re up here. Trying to preserve it. Guessin’ this was cheap shit when they brought it up. Now it’s liquid gold…” Two plastic shotglasses in goofy neon colors were seized from behind the dusty bar— yet more items the girls had clearly brought up prior. There was also a record player and speakers Sophonax had been ready to throw out a couple of years back. And behind the bar on the shelves Sune’ere would be able to see some pictures of the Sentinel crew. Khooey was in more than a few of them smiling and laughing.

"So what d' you think?" Rose held a day-glo shotglass of aged, smooth and buttery scotch out the man.

Whiskey, Guns, and abandoned towns. Empty Re: Whiskey, Guns, and abandoned towns.

Sune'ere nodded to her when she mentioned her other Ma. "Course ya did. Just cause you're related doesn't mean you got the same talents. I mean look at me, I have a sense of humor. No one's gonna think I'm related to space pops with something like that." He grinned a bit to himself and let her keep talking. So he was dating a wicked witch, wait. Was that a reference that he actually understood? His grin widened just a little bit. "Wicked witch huh? You must be a good witch of the north, because you definitely don't melt when you get wet." Yeah he was testing just how far his jokes could go with her. Him being this relaxed was always nice but at some point he was probably going to catch an elbow to the gut.

While his eye's were closed he would follow instructions, first giving her his right hand, keeping the palm open. The hefty feel of the weapon in his grip now was tested. heavier than most things he used, though not so heavy as the rifle he'd made. Something that could barely be used one handed, and it seemed more hefty than average, like it was made for him. He raised it, and the balancing was perfect for his hands. She had a sixth sense for just what may of been necessary for him. It was weighted perfectly for the way he would naturally hold something like this. His finger only grazed over the trigger guard and as far up the barrel or stock of the gun as he could manage. When she told him to open his eye's he would be greeted with the sight of a double barreled shot gun, different but not unusual in his grip. He acted like he'd held something similar to the hand cannon now in his possession. The feeling of her wrapped around him though brought a smile to his face. The kiss, her smile that was unseen but felt, and the appreciating eye on the weapon as he turned it over in his hand. "Rose I'm...." He smiled and blushed just a bit. "Thank you Rose. I couldn't ask for a better present."

There was no hint of sarcasm or talking down to her he was honestly impressed with how well that she'd gotten the weight. It was just off enough in the back that a capcitor might actually balance the weight. Almost like she'd taken that into consideration the entire time. As she backed up he continued to look the weapon over with a discerning eye, before opening the double barrels up to see how the bore was on the inside. He was so caught up in the technicalities that as he went looking at the trigger he would stop and see her mark on it. Much larger than others and would smile in a way that was beaming and bright.

"Oh I see, now everyone will know I'm yours huh? He smiled pointing to the R and Rose on the gun before setting it down on the table. When she offered a bit of the seventy year old whisky he would shake his head. Seeing the cups she pulled out he would grin just a bit. "Pour us a bit more than a shot, I want to enjoy this. I'll pay the other girls back, promise." He was happy, this was the first real gift he'd gotten from her and it meant a whole lot more than he could put into words. Her mark on it made it seem official that he was hers, and while no one else might thing twice about it. It really meant the whole world to him. If she poured more than just a shot into the glass he would raise his free hand and focus on his magics, basically catching the cold in the air and solidifying it. Dropping two perfectly formed cubes of ice into each glass before raising his own.

"Whisky of that age needs to be appreciated. My uncle would kill me if he knew I passed up a seventy year batch, and drank it like vodka." For once he sounded more like a noble, appreciating a drink of all things. He would wait for the ice and water to change the taste, before taking a sip and widening his eye's at it. "Never mind, there is no way I am paying this back unless my dad has something better in his cellar. Shit." He tried to chuckle, though he would continue to sip and taste the whisky, enjoying it for a moment and letting that inner warmth spread through him.

"I still owe you some more teaching on how to do spell storm stuff huh? I'll make sure to teach you before we leave for Celesin. I guess we just got busy learning some different kind of magic huh?" He grinned and couldn't help himself from switching hands with his drink and snatching the ready to be loaded shotgun up, snapping it back into place he would turn towards the door and hold it there one handed. he struck quite the figure for a moment before turning back and grinning to her. "This thing is amazing. I can't believe how perfect the weighting is. It feels like I made it myself." He gave her a bit of a side eye for a moment while he smirked. "Were you taking measurements while we were? I can't imagine how you figured all this out in any down time we've had."

Whiskey, Guns, and abandoned towns. Empty Re: Whiskey, Guns, and abandoned towns.

Sune’ere earned himself a snort and a laugh at his third or forth dirty joke. “Christ, you’ve got a whole arsenal of those, don’t you?’ she’d exclaim for his ability to transform just about anything into an innuendo. First guns, now this. Now, legs swinging off the edge of the bar top she was wearing a smile nearly as goofy as one of his legendarily ones while sipping on her own shot of whiskey. While it was a small amount just knocking it back seemed wrong.

“Well it was either put my signature on my 9th Symphony, or, it was heatin’ up a cattle brander and comin’ for that nice, unblemished ass of yours” Rose gave him a wink and put the day-glo green jigger aside to look for one of the old, thick glasses. It wasn’t covered in dust or muck as they’d likely washed the glassware several times and happily used them during their get-togethers. It wasn’t as if any other mouths would be upon them any time soon.”If y’ want ice you’re gonna have to step outside an’ break off a ‘cicle.”

As requested (after he took her suggestion if applicable) Rose would pull the cork off the bottle of old scotch and poured him a double— a triple if he insisted on continuing. In all honesty she didn’t much care. Sune’ere had made her goofy little off the cuff present a special occasion of sorts and there was no way she was turning that acknowledgement down.

“Yeah that’s what we’ll call it. ‘Magic’” she’d snicker onto the rim of her own glass. Rose then watched him move with the sawn off; knowing he was handling the weight and appreciating how well balanced it was. That he loved it so much really made her night, or month...maybe her year. “We’ll you’ve had your hands all over me, in me. And, I’ve handled your shooters before. So I know what kinda weight you’re working with an’ I know your grip.” she actually wiggled her brows at him for the last bit. If he wanted to talk about “handling his guns”, she could do the same herself. “Not to mention the best way t’ get a feel for that was handlin’ and critiquing what kinda pieces you made ya’self.”

Rose eased off the old, dusty mahogany bar top and watched him point it. He was having a grand old time with it, for certain. “Maybe y’ can give me an introductory lesson tonight? How about it?” A pause. "After eatin' anyway."

Sune'ere grinned when she said he had a whole arsenal of innuendo and dirty jokes. He didn't argue or tell her yes or no to the question. It would be better to just surprise her as time went on. When she mentioned branding him though he would wince a bit. "I'll take a pass on you branding my ass. Then all the other sentinels will just start making stud jokes at me." He grinned, it was a bit subtler than what he had been saying before, but he still managed to get that innuendo in there. When she poured the scotch for him and made mention of needing icicles outside he would just shake his head.

Pulling in moisture from the air and freezing it in his palm, he would produce two ice cubes and drop them into the cup. He was fairly confident and quick in what was essentially parlor trick magic in size and scope compared to the feats people like his uncle and father could muster. He let the cubes chill the scotch while he went back to looking over the gun. He grinned at her own not so subtle innuendo's, there was definitely another plus to the ever growing pile to stay with this mountain girl for as long as he could. And she just kept going getting a chuckle out of him when she mentioned knowing his grip. "You know how to make a grip, how to grip, and what my grip feels like. I feel like you learned more from me after one massage than I did listening to you explain about all the machinery." He finally set the shotgun down and took a small sip of the scotch. It was good, if a little more potent than he was used to. The quick blinking of his eye's and biting of his cheeks showed that the flavor was something he most certainly wouldn't be getting used to soon, though not wholly unreasonable.

He went to one of his packs, and moved over to the bar with her. He started setting out the fixings for sandwiches, and a pair of thermos with soup in them. A tupperware with a bit of mac and cheese he'd made the other night. The sandwich fixings had a decent selection of lunch meats and other toppings like cheese and lettuce and other things he had scrounged from the fridge. It wouldn't be five star dinning, hell they could of made a better meal AT the ranch, but here they wouldn't be bothered with chores, and could fire off guns and chat as necessary without having the others bother them.

"Sounds fine by me. It's nothing too complicated really. Just a bit of binding magic, so long as you got talent, which I know you do, it should be easier than standing watch for your ma." He chuckled and went about making himself a sandwich, putting all the fixings on it before he managed to have a monstrosity that looked like it could barely fit into his mouth. "Those capacitors I make are a bit more high tech, less magic mumbo jumbo and more having the proper wires and following instructions precisely." He took the first big bite from his sandwich chewing and swallowing before talking again.

"So I been meaning to ask. You girls ever have any spooky stuff happen while you're up here? This place seems perfect for a horror story waiting to happen, instead of your own personal party den ya know?" The abandoned mining town, it had a feeling like one of the many horror stories his uncle kept in his expansive library.

Whiskey, Guns, and abandoned towns. Empty Re: Whiskey, Guns, and abandoned towns.

Post by Røse Thu May 12, 2016 4:37 am

Watching him make the ice was an interesting experience for Rose. She’d seen power before but he was so very casual about it— magic tricks and feats to amaze just to get a couple of cubes for whiskey when the better part of the time Sune’ere gave the impression he favored his tools instead of his magi. The feat earned him a toothy grin from Rose.

“Showin’ off…” purred the Nepenthe,; not anywhere near serious or bothered. “As for the grip, well, I’m a damn quick study, eh? That an’ a gal can pick up a lot by th’ way a man touches her just like you suspected.” And that got him a sly wink.

Rose eased off the bar top and joined him in laying out the food. Already the chamber was getting warmer and they wouldnt be in danger of his cold cuts, cheese and fresh baked bread becoming frigid in moments. Those miners sure knew how to insulate their buildings if anything.

“Every time I watch you make a sandwich they get bigger an’ bigger.” A soup thermos was seized along with a bit of pasta and rather than building a sandwich— or a skyscraper like Sune’ere— she settled with folding cheese and meat into a single bread fold and, if possible, dipping it into the savory blend before nibbling a bite.

Sune’ere’s question got another smile from her but this time with raised eyebrows and obvious incredulity in her expression. “Y’ wanna know about the spooky stuff while we’re in the spooky place? Goin’ hard in the paint much, Snowball? Well settle in. But I know you city boys get scared kinda easily so maybe you’d feel a bit safer hugged up, hm?” Another bite of the sandwich and more of the soup both as a dip and to sip from; the warmth making her sides tingle pleasantly after such a frigid journey.

“It’s always subtle stuff. Sort that’ll drive you crazy?” Rose cleared her mouth and settled into the Dra’sin’s arms if he had obliged wrapping them around her while she jokingly insinuated he was a scared little lamb in a strange land. While speaking, she rubbed her hand over his forearm over and over again— even the arm hair was white. Fancy that! “Like...Whinnie-Sloane and I dusted Khooey and Gwenna last year to go in the Rutger House. That ones a bit closer to the ‘adit’, y’ know the opening of the shaft? Those big scary metal doors y’ saw coming up on th’ mountain side? An’ the other girl’s didn’t wanna go in. We heard footsteps on th’ floor above us, a baby cryin’ and there wasn’t nothin’ up there when we checked. Just frozen toys and blankets.”

It was a nice lead-in, but not quite getting to the meat of it just yet.

“Then...there was the time we wanted to shoot and all of our gear had vanished. I’m talking all of it: packs, rucksacks, thermoses, ammo, emergency climbing kits and flares— gone. We always come into this joint to settle in before doin’ anything around town or going to shoot. And like, we’d just gone into the kitchen to look for one of those old presses to make coffee in and boom— gone. Like someone stole ‘em. Guess where we found it all?”

While Rose had been joking earlier about him being scared and her tone was jovial if excited to tell him those adventurous and alarming happenings— she had stiffened slightly from the memory. It had been scary when it happened, but after it was another awesome yarn the girls liked to pass around along the fire along with some whiskey.

“We foun’t em all in the Rutger house after two hours of looking. Everything was laid out on the parent’s bed jus’ like whoever they mighta been was rearing up to go on a trip of their own. And there was a map added to the layout— the adit was circled. It was like a dead guy took our shit, or thought it was his shit and was bound and determined even in death to go into the shaft.” Rose consulted her whiskey again before continuing. “Outside of that we kinda see people milling aroun’ the outpost at night. But that could be eyes playin’ tricks, you know? They’re always in the corner of your eyes. Not lookin’ frozen or ghoulish or nothin’ but happy, warm, rosey cheeked. Might have their kids with ‘em. Turn a corner and they’re gone.”

Whiskey, Guns, and abandoned towns. Empty Re: Whiskey, Guns, and abandoned towns.

Sune'ere just laughed as she said he was showing off. He shrugged it off, but nearly spit out his own drink when she mentioned him touching her and getting a good idea of what kind of grip he would like. He grinned and even blushed a bit when she said that and continued on his quest for a very large sandwich. Chomping at it he watched her eat and could only grin when she mentioned his meals becoming larger and larger every time she saw him eat. "Can ya blame me Rose? You tend to wear me out in the best possible way. Gotta keep my energy up somehow." He watched her dip her own food in the soup and decided to give that a whirl. Tasting it he would grin and nod rapidly in obvious appreciation of the idea.

She decided to keep poking at his city boy nature and he would grin. "Oh yes, I do get spooked quite easily. I need my strong sentinel here to keep me safe." To anyone else it may of sounded like a joke, even condescending to her. However coming from him it was nothing short of adoration and kind of cute. When she came over he continued to snuggle against her, keeping them both warm quite easily as he ate as quietly as he could manage, as he listened to her stories. His reaction to such tales went from vague surprise at the sounds heard on a floor above to actual surprise and interest as she mentioned all of their gear going missing. If she hadn't claimed his lap, he might of been on the edge of his seat for the next yarn she would spin for him. When it was done he downed his whiskey and let the burn warm him up just a little more. There were of course some similarities to other haunting cases he had read about or heard about. And spirits were not something new to him, but he preferred not to mess with that particular bit of the supernatural.

"So that big gate is something important. Not surprising since it was a mining town, but it sounds almost malicious to me, especially if people just up and vanished." He shivered thinking about just disappearing, not being able to go back to redpointe, never seeing his family again, or even Odine. The idea rubbed him all the wrong way, and he would make a mental note not to do anything dumb concerning the adit.

He took a moment to gather himself and finish off his food before speaking again. "I feel like I was expecting something more obviously malicious, dead bodies and screaming spirits, but in its way, happy spirits is almost scarier." Unless she spoke again he would raise his now free sandwich hand to her cheek and turn her head towards his and place a whiskey kiss on her lips for a moment before pulling away with a stupid smile on his face. "Is it weird I want to see something like that today? Just so we can have a story to tell Odine later?" He chuckled at his own dumb admittance of desire for adventure, just for the sake of a story.

He looked at all of their food, at his present set down on the table near them, and then back to Rose. This adventure was all in her hands now but he couldn't help his own urges and spoke once more with a grin on his face. "You keep snuggling on my lap like that, and we're not gonna get any shooting of guns done. So when do I get to fire off my new gun?" Well he was certainly excited in more than one way.

Whiskey, Guns, and abandoned towns. Empty Re: Whiskey, Guns, and abandoned towns.

”Yeah, you better keep that energy up.” would nearly be growled in the face of him blushing and then confessing they had a knack for wearing him out. This was more than fine with either of them, obviously. Rose gave herself time to take another bite before answering his next question and brushing crumbs from her thermals.

’Real important. Y’gathered by now I’m sure that it aint jus’ any old mine. I told you enough about it but its not just the value or the ghosts but there’s all sorts of materials in there that aint anywhere else on this world. That an’ they say it might be one of the “nodes”’ Rose turned to him slightly and gave him a considering look. ’That window we went through, right? Well Snowball, those little anomolies get stronger an’ stronger up here— up until you pass the gate out front. There’s none of em within the confines of this little hamlet. Kinda strange, ain’t it?’

Rose then brought her own whiskey around to sip and raised an eyebrow in Sune’ere’s direction. He had a point about it being odd that the spirits were powerful and yet mundane.

’They can be scary. Jus’ not in ways you’d expect. Don’t know what we’d have done if we hadn’t found our gear.’ And before she could march the statement forward her was turning her head and kissing her. It was indeed a whiskey kiss and certainly a mutual one. After, he’d get a grin and a shake of her head. ’Don’t go gettin’ any wild ideas, Mister Adventure. We gotta make it back to Odine to tell any stories in th’ first place.’

After the bit about snuggling and getting shooting done Sune’ere would find Rose giving him a wink as she stood up— but not before shamelessly patting him on the crotch. ’We’ll get the new gun going first. After, since it seems like you went and loaded the other one we’ll have to see about that as well. Won’t we?’ Now, she was rifling through the gear she’d hauled up. A few blanks, some powder shells and three specialized rounds she’d thrown together just to let him feel how it really kicked were shoved into a hip pack that connected to her belt while a loop on the bottom was buckled around her thighs. A nice little cross between a pack and a holster. The sawn off she’d made him wouldnt mold to the caddy but they could easily just carry it until she got him a bit of storage together.

’Y’ wanna be careful up the path to the ledge. One, it’s slippy. Two, the fjord is so damn pretty y’ could easily lose that footing and go sliding back down it and bust your head open or somesuch. I’d like to avoid such a happenin’.’

Before long she was nice and bulked up again for the cold; waiting for Sune to get himself together before they exited The Wash and followed along the side of the building. What made for a makeshift alleyway between structures was indeed narrow and the sheet of ice over what might have been gravel before her time was as treacherous as she had warned. Sune’ere would be able to see that the floor altitude was rising and they were going to have to balance between the old metal fence walling off the city from oblivion and the back of a storage building using their palm and likely some prayer. But once they breached past the choke point Rose would hop onto the storage building’s roof and stand.
It wasn’t the highest point in Sӧren’s Peak but the view was breathtaking. The mountain range was more like a bowl when looking behind the old abandoned settlement and the peak mines; it dipped from rocky peaks in blue and white to the promise Fjord below where the coniferous forest resumed around the huge body of water that had breached the land. At night he could expect the Aurora to turn it all into an ethereal sight.

’Pass me th’ shooter. I got some clay disks in here too if you want to shoot some Skeet…?’ If he obliged Rose would load him up in both chambers and first with the blanks she’d brought.

Whiskey, Guns, and abandoned towns. Empty Re: Whiskey, Guns, and abandoned towns.

Post by Sune Mon Jun 13, 2016 5:30 pm

Sune'ere grinned as she told him he would need to keep his energy up, well that certainly would be the cherry and whip cream on the end of this trip. However what she said next about there being no anomalies within the town certainly peaked his interest. He thought about it only a moment before responding with his own thoughts about the thing. "Might be that gate is made of a material that blocks those anomalies in a set area. Though nothing is perfect so what we might be seeing is a bleed through as far as your spirits are concerned." That might be a rather spot on assumption. The thought of these people being, what was the phrase his uncle had used. Phase shifted just slightly out of sync with the rest of the world. It was always a possibility.

As for him getting wild ideas, he would shake his head. She was his guide here, and he wouldn't do anything nuts unless it was necessary. He preferred not to mess with the natural and spiritual landscape of places, and just observe unless things tried to mess with him. As Rose stood and them shamelessly patted him, he would growl playfully at her. "Sounds like fun to me on both counts. never done it in a haunted place anyway." Whether he was referring to shooting a gun, or other acts he would just leave in the air for her to decide.

As lunch was finished and Rose began to gear up, Sune would do the same, grabbing what gear he'd brought with him for protection along with his own thermal cloak. Once he was good and set he would follow Rose out into the alley and the subsequent path. Breathtaking as the view may be from here, it was also dangerous, he kept his wits about him in case of wind, and even sub-conciously activated some safety spells just in case either one of them should slip and fall. He wouldn't let a dumb accident take Rose from him. Hell, he wouldn't let anything take this woman from him. He wasn't over protective of her, as he knew she was strong and could handle herself. At the same time, if he could do something to protect her, he wouldn't hesitate. The young prince was well and truly in love after all.

Once they were up on the building he took in the view, enjoying it and smiling. It was beautiful in that way nature usually was, even awe inspiring, and the cold gave him ideas. He so liked this kind of weather, it was perfect for him to think in, not brain rattling like the hot desert of Nexxian had been. The only thing that broke his thought process was her talking about handing her the shooter. He shook his head a moment and obliged. Passing the shotgun to her, he would smile a bit.

"Sounds good to me." Once he was loaded up he would take the shooter back from her. Feeling the new weight as it was loaded, and he would smile just a bit. It felt good in his hands, something that could potentially mess someone up hard. Though they would need to be in close, the stopping power was something to be feared. Once they were both read he would wait for her to get ready with whatever she was throwing out. "Not sure how many blanks you brought with you, but I'd like to get a feel for one barrel at a time and then both. Don't know how much of a kick you gave this beast."

He grinned and waited for her to throw. Once his target was at its apex he would level the gun and fire off a single barrel. Depending on the kick back Sune might do anything from barely react, to grunting, to even having his arm thrown backwards. While he was no slouch as far as his own strength went, it was rare that he used any of that considerable power without augments. It may be likely that he would in fact pull back from the recoil. However despite his reaction, whatever she threw would be shattered by whatever she had filled the shell with instead of the usual lead.

"Damn that feels good. Haven't shot anything that kicked like a mule since I upgraded my ole spell cannon. It's like a return to form." While she readied the next thing to be thrown, he would look to her, smiling wider than usual. "Throw the next one. If I hit it, I want you to answer a question for me." he hedged his bets, closing his eye's and extending out his force projection field, he would know every movement within a few feet of him. With his eye's closed he listened to her, waited for her movements, waited for her to get ready to throw and then he would speak again.

"I love you Rose, do you return the feeling?"

Whiskey, Guns, and abandoned towns. Empty Re: Whiskey, Guns, and abandoned towns.

Rose shook her head about the gate.

’Nah, see— there’s plenty o’ gates like that all over Redpointe and past th’ jurisdiction. Ever’where. Just gotta know how t’ spot them. Funny thing about that is for all th’ other gates? They’re crowded with anomalies. A few we know, some we don’t. They kin’na concentrate around em. Like the gates are little wounds on the land an’ the anomalies are white blood cells. We got to be careful aroun’ them— not doin’ any magic, stay lowkey. Exotic types of energy attracts th’ anomalies. More dangerous it is, closer y’ are to one of the gateways.’ Seems the girl knew her stuff but of course she was a native of the land in the end.

When Sune’ere agreed to want to shoot the clay disks she put the blanks aside and loaded in the powdered shells she’d brought. There were twenty-five regular live rounds. More than enough for them to have some fun and for “Snowball” to get a good feel for the gun.

’If y’ look at the triggers it’s a dual setup. Y’ can pull one or both. She can handle it.’ Rose gave the sawn-off style arm back to Sune’ere ready to rumble and rug into her thigh pack. She had five clay disks to play with and grinned when he lined his shot up and waited.

’First rule of Skeet. Y’ gotta say ”Pull” when y’ want me to throw on. Try me out.’ She had her arm cocked and ready; hips turned slightly and one foot in front of the other. Clearly, this was another one of those activities that the girls enjoyed and now he’d been invited to partake. It was a bit like officially becoming part of the Redpointe gang: a game of Skeet high up the mountain. At his behest if he made the command like she’d instructed; Rose flung the disc with an expert arc; its trajectory bearing a curve to his right halfway to full velocity and swinging left toward the end. She had enough of a practiced hand that it would keep its horizon without issue. If Sune’ere was a great shot as she imagined of course he was going to hit it. The disk would shatter in a puff of gray dust— no shards flew. The ammunition had evaporated it.

’Got-damn…’ from Rose who whistled soon afterward; lifting a hand to shade her aviator style glacier glasses. ’Oh hell, we definitely gotta do that again. An’ look at you getting comfortable!’ She also hid an unavoidable smile at his obvious appreciation of her handiwork. There were few things that could make Rose blush and gushing about her painstaking craftwork was certainly one of those things. She took pride in her high quality custom work even though the firearm world was far from knowing her name. And this was her first attempt at designing for the arms of gun mages.

Another disc was hauled out and the Jann looked more than excited even if frost was forming on her beanie and her lips were already looking frozen and dried out. Rose promised herself after the next shot she’d put some of the winter salve she’d brought on the exposed skin on her face and would probably smear Sune’ere with it too whether he liked it or not. Could he even suffer the effects of exposure?

’Askin’ me a question with stipulations? We doin’ interrogations in games now? Oh, Snowball...y’ know I’m up for it. Gimme the word.’ And as she was cocking her arm back he delivered his question— and she stared at him for a moment. After, she even pulled up the glacier goggles to give him an unreadable look with her strange irises. A neutral mouth with generous lips spread into a small smile as she regained her bearings.

’So I gotta wait to answer it after I throw? Bummer…’ she’d say; a bit more softness in her voice than he’d likely ever heard before. He had the bumpkin at a disadvantage and she didn’t seem to mind. As soon as the heard the Pull! she’d fling the disc in an even more curved arc just to mess with him. Puckishness was second nature to her.

Sune'ere listened to her talk about having to be careful about the use of magic around here, well if there were anomalies and the like that would make perfect sense. No need to mess with the reality around them if they could help it. Though it could make for some interesting testing to be done later, with the proper equipment. No, now was not the time to be thinking of weaponry and new theories to impress others with, this was time for him and Rose to be together and alone playing with guns and getting to enjoy the simple life before he shipped off to Celesin.

"Got it, keep the magic to a minimum. I suppose I'll have to make a fire works show out of thin air for you elsewhere. Damn and I had it all planned out." He grinned to her and once he got the gun he could feel the dual trigger system. It was nice to have something so simple in his hands yet again. Once she gave him his instructions he would holler out with a loud "PULL" The kick from the powdered non-blanks sent him back just a little more than anticipated, but he still loved the kick on it. If they made some specialty bullets he would need to up his own strength just to fire them normally. He imagined that the power this thing would eventually put out would easily be four times that of a single one of his revolvers.

His question asked, he had kept his eye's closed, but still was aware of her, whether she felt it or not she was within that small bubble he'd made. While he couldn't see the small smile, he was aware of her heartbeat and everything about her. Small things that she might not even be aware of, that level of intimacy with another living being he was not actively trying to kill was new, and showed him more interesting ways to expand his mind.

"Pull!" He never turned away from her, and never opened his eye's. he felt the disc travel through where he could sense it, and then leave it. Expanding his mind just a bit more he would have a lock on with it and would adjust his aim and fire. Now that was something to be impressed by, and definitely something worth the answer.

"Now you can answer." Most likely he'd hit it, but there was always that bit about errors in judgement on his own part. Once he was done he would lower his arm with the spent gun in it and rub his shoulder.

"Fuck me, I shouldn't be firing that at odd angles, that recoil kinda stings when you're trying to show off for your girlfriend." He grinned to her, opening his eye's to look at her and then handing the shooter back to her, time to reload, or maybe it was time for him to start throwing and get asked questions.

Whiskey, Guns, and abandoned towns. Empty Re: Whiskey, Guns, and abandoned towns.

Post by Røse Thu Jun 30, 2016 7:50 am

”Fireworks! Well, shoot…how about t’night we just watch the Aurora instead? Up here the sky’ll make them for us.’ Rose chortled and readied the clay disk while watching Sune close his eyes and point the gun toward the white void yawning out ahead of the drop off. An amused snort toward the action before she waited to hear the call and flung the disk on command.

Rose didn’t even make a move to do more than glance at the disk as it exploded; a toothy smile spreading across her features. Of course he was gonna hit the damned thing. Nobody without that level of assuredness in their game would close their eyes and not even turn toward the target. Sune’ere would likely be able to sense frigid air being inhaled by the figure coming closer to him now that he professed she could answer him. One of her hands seized his belt and yanked him closer to her. It took a bit of standing on the balls of her feet to get level with him considering his height, but, she could manage. Warm, clean breath on the scruff of his chin and jaw preceded her “answer”.

’Shut th’ hell up, Snowball. Askin’ questions you already know the answer to. I’m plum stupid for you.’ Rose purred; confirming that yes she did indeed have feelings for him with a deep, but slow kiss. The hand which had seized his belt reached out to lower Sune’ere’s arm if he hadn’t put it down already in order to get it at her side and, maybe, around her waist or on her ass. Didn’t much care if the gun was in the way or still a bit warm. Contact was broken with a laugh and her eyes trained up at him; in the overcast and snow-blind light there were pale blues and warmer tones standing out in the pale pearlescent shade of her irises. The source of the effect would lead back to the Dra’sen’s color scheme— his skin, gear and eyes had caused the reflective highlights.

’S’finally official. A gun for my man an’ a man who regrets not being able to show off for his lady. I mean….y’know where and when y’ get yourself a chance to shine, anyway.’ A small laugh before she backed up and dug into her pack for the promised quartet of ‘Flechette’ style ammunition which she passed to Sune’ere with an eager look.

’You figure it had a kick before, wait until y’ pop those off. See that drill design on the tip? That expands after projection. It’s ahh….pretty “invasive” as they call it. Last round you’d need before getting into the special spellstorm stuff. In like a penny, out like a pizza…actually’ Luckily, they were on a part of the peak specifically chosen for the settlement as it had very little danger of causing an avalanche— because Rose was reaching for the gun. If it was passed her way she’d load one of the intimidating rounds into it and turned to face away from the drop off. Instead; she pointed the business end toward a free standing wooden pylon that no longer had wirework attached to it as no electricity had run in the settlement’s veins for decades.

Rose’s form was mighty different from Sune’ere’s; her front perfectly to the east, head and gun facing north by her right, the left leg stabilized her with her foot lined up with her front while the right was turned outward and the limb slightly extended so she could balance by the tip of her heel with the point of her boot raised. It was a very old world style of shooting that most wouldnt recognize but it enabled someone who weighed quite a bit less than the man beside her to work with such a true to form handcannon. And then, she fired. No stagger— instead her center of gravity swayed back slightly and was almost instantly righted and the pylon she had aimed at which had to have at least a food and a half of diameter to it and likely solid evaporated above the three yard mark. Wood splinters showered the snow and a few of them hit the metal siding of several buildings with an almost musical quality.

’Imagine what that’d do to somebody tryna collect a head…’ she almost growled; smiling a touch too wide at the sheer violence of her creation. ’Gonna have all the Gals outfitted with these rounds ‘fore the next snows. Of course they ain’t exactly fit for huntin’.’

Whiskey, Guns, and abandoned towns. Empty Re: Whiskey, Guns, and abandoned towns.

Post by Sune Thu Jul 07, 2016 11:01 am

Sune kept his ears open to hear the sound of the disk exploding. The gun warm in his grip but rapidly cooling in the cold he felt her approach, the way she gripped at his belt and pulled at him. When she spoke near him he couldn't help but smile. He loved the way her words sounded to him, maybe he was just a little dense in seeing how she felt. Hearing it confirmed aloud lifted what little weight of doubt he might of had concerning where they were in their relationship. The kiss she gave him was returned, savoring the feel of her lips against his own, cold and cracked though they might be from the weather. In this relatively quiet place they could just be themselves with no one watching and neither of them caring. His gun hand lowered he would press the warm barrel against her ass and pull her up closer as the other wrapped up to lift her just a bit so that the kiss could be met in full. Once it was over he would lower her again and just laugh a little bit in that nervous kind of way new couples did around one another.

He lowered his own abilities, so that the bright fire in his eye's lessened to show deep blue eye's that were filled with happiness. "It's better than any ring I laid eye's on. I'll take a gun over jewelry any day of the year. Though if ya ever want any, ya know just ask and I'll see what I can scrounge up." When she went to take the gun from him he would hand it over willingly they were still testing it and he would let its creator get a real whirl with the weapon, after all the hard work she put into it she certainly deserved that and more. Seeing the bullets he would eye them curiously and getting an explanation on things he would nod appreciatively. However he waited to see them in action before commenting on anything.

Professionalism be damned Rose cut a damn good figure when she was firing off the gun. He tried his best to keep his eye's from wandering over her figure and keep himself looking at just the type of damage the weapon would cause. When the weapon was fired he took note of two things. Firstly was the damage it caused. Evaporating the post was damn impressive of the bullets type. If he could incorporate something like that into his own types of ammo he would be set. The second thing he noticed from his periphery was how instead of trying to withstand the recoil, she simply moved her body with it to let it move through her quickly. A technique he should learn to use himself instead of relying on his abilities more to simply tank the shots. His response to the whole show was to simply whistle appreciatively.

"Damn, surprise someone with that, and most the people I know are gonna get destroyed. Then again they don't expect you to just pull a shotgun out in their faces." He nodded to her when she mentioned having the rest of the gals fitted with that type of ammo and how it certainly wasn't fit for hunting. "Good, this place is starting to get kind of dangerous. What with all the stuff I was up here for last year, and now more lonely princes coming ya'lls way." He trusted that each of the girls could defend themselves, they'd been up here for years now and doing just fine, but the whole political landscape was changing so to speak and more people of questionable morals just kept showing up on this planet. Eventually something might come along that damn good guns simply couldn't defend against.

Coming back up beside her he would rest a hand on her butt and pull the side of her hips towards his own and bump her before turning with a grin towards her. "Speaking of my spellstorm stuff, I got a theory on how to make it work with buckshot. We'll have to test it out later, but I think I can get it to work eventually." He chuckled and would reach beneath his cloak to pull out one of his revolvers, and hand it over to her if she wanted to. "I'd like to see you handle one of my irons. I got a glacier, a truck and a crushing type loaded up. The overcharge switch is a little slide just past the trigger. If you flip it, just use two hands I don't need you dislocating an arm."

If she took it true to his word, Sune would watch her. The first bullet would fire off the ice type, creating between a three or ten foot block of ice wherever it landed, the second was one of his force bullets he had used on multiple occasions to hit people like a truck. And lastly was a new type he had been working on. If she fired that, hopefully it was at a structure or something she didn't like. After all the nickname crushing wasn't him exaggerating. The bullet would literally create a small gravity well for a few moments that would try to gather and crush anything in its immediate radius.
